New Developments in BaPro

Bula vinaka.

I am Mrs Vosarewa Vuetaki (Vosa for short). I am going to update you on the new developments going on at Ba Provincial Free Bird Institute and what it takes to motivate our students to come to school every day.

NEW BASKETBALL TEAM

The Principal has given us the green light to form a school Basketball Team. It will be coached by Mr. Kotani and we hope that his experience will boost the performance of our boys as they compete with their adversaries from the other Secondary schools in Lautoka.
The players should boost the morale of our boys.

Now that our Team is formed, we have been told by the Principal to also inject some local students in Years 9 and 11 into the Basketball team. Mr. Kotani is looking forward to selecting another 7 local boys to join this team. He will be conducting his Trials sometime in the very near future.

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE SCHOOL’S PHYSICAL STRUCTURE

Students and teachers returned to school this term to find the school buildings freshly painted and the school grounds upgraded. The Principal’s compound has also been flattened and banana plants planted around the square to mark his boundary. The school now has a new look, making a good impression to our visitors, both local and from abroad. This is also going to prompt a positive motivation for our Provincial students to choose BPFBIPR as their place of study next year and in years to come.

THE PRINCIPAL SHOWS TEACHERS HOW HE WANTS SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES CONDUCTED

He did not mince his words when he said he wanted the National Anthem sung with the accompaniment of musical instruments and a Conductor. Here, he shows the House Teachers how he wants it done! There is now a lot of difference in the way the Friday Flag Ceremony is done and the singing has become more meaningful to all. It is a joy to watch our ESL students sing along the National Anthem with the rest of the school.

ESL STUDENTS ALSO SMARTLY MARCH ON TO THE ASSEMBLY ARENA EVERY AFTERNOON AFTER DUTIES

Don’t they look smart? As of this Term, our ESL students have been forming their lines before marching on as a Team to the Assembly area for announcements and bus lines. We are definitely changing and students are beginning to see the value of Teamwork in what they do. Keep on ESL students! We are very proud of you and how you are beginning to change positively!

LOCAL STUDENTS COME TO ESL CLASSES FOR ASSISTANCE

We have 3 new local students in Level 2Y of ESL class and they are here to improve their reading and comprehension skills during their normal English classes. They are all from Year 9. Allowing them to join our English classes has boosted their morale as well as motivated our own ESL students to learn and do well. They are now into their second week and according to Mr. Sailasa, they are all doing well. We hope that by the end of this term, these students will be able to improve and hence, move back to their local classrooms for English.

I sincerely hope that you have enjoyed updating your information about the school.
